  • 1.  Migrating various endpoints to custom groups

I have a list of over 1000 endpoint devices (in this instance Windows servers) that are needed to be migrated into some custom groups that I have created in SEPM.  To move the servers is fairly simple, and I can do specified searches using wildcards to move a couple at a time.  However due to the various sites we have and how they are split up, I need to effectively be able to create a list of "these servers" and move them to this "group" in SEPM.  Is there a quicker way that is much faster than doing a search with just wildcards?

As an example, I have these servers (server names are made up)

    SRV1

    SRV2

    SRV3

    TSR1

    PLQ1

    N99_XY

I need a way to find all of these servers and move to "GROUP 1"

Is there a way that this can be done via command line (i.e. powershell or vb script).  With over 1000 endpoint devices, this is a time consuming task through the SEPM GUI.

    Manager is 12.1 RU3

Try the moveclients.vbs script. It should be under the Tools\NoSuport folder on the ISO download

There is also a PDF in there with instructions on how to use

    Hello,

Apart from the above suggestions, you may be interested in checking this Download -

    MoveClient Script

NOTE: This utility is not provided neither supported by Symantec.

    Hope that helps!!
