    Greetings!!!

I have done migration of SEPM server from one physical server to VM server by replication method. the IP address and host name is changed. I have 530 remote clients. Now I want to move this server from VM server to physical machine again and IP Address and host name are also different. please suggest the best way to migrate...

One you could use sylink drop to update the all the clients and get them to point to the new server.

If you are going to have both servers online and pointing to the same database add the new server to the infrastructure and create a rule that points the machines to the new SEPM as their default machine.

    Hi,

Backup the required things with the help of disaster recovery article.

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102333

Install new SEPM on physical machine and again follow disaster recovery to restore communication.

    Hi,

You are changing both hostname and IP address.

You can use Replication method or Sylink replacer to restore client communication.

Note : Replication is an option, but its better not to go for that. Because if you do replication and remove the old server that is the Primary SEPM , in future if you want to do replication you will not be able to do so.

With the help of Sylink replacer tool you can redirect your clients to new SEPM.

I have sent you PM, you can try that way also.

If you have specific policies you can take a backup of policies.
