Hello there...

We were planning to migrate to new hardware...but the installation of Netbackup 7.5 fails with this error

so..we reviewed the cluster configuration and nothing appears to be wrong (using veritas cluster manager)

for checking...we tried to install netbackup 7.1...and the installation went smoothly and installation finished successfully

so when we upgrade from 7.1 to 7.5 same error appears!!!!!

I don't know what is the problem?!!

the specs of the system are below

Any help will be appreciated...thannx

Found this note internally - maybe it will help you?

Cause

When installing a NetBackup Master into a Veritas Cluster  it is necessary to run  vcredist_x64.exe
from  DVD:\NetBackup_7.5_Win\NetBackup_7.5_Win\Prerequisites\   folder before launching the browser.exe

Solution

Run the  vcredist_x64.exe  from the  Prerequisites   folder on the 7.5 installation DVD or media.

(If it DOES work, let me know so I can make sure we publish this externally!)

Hello there...

Thanks for your reply...

and I amd sorry that I did not update the post before I went home yesterday

we tried to simulate our environment on a lab and we noticed that it did require Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and download it before proceeding to setup...

but due to some restriction policy here...the real environment has no internet connectivity...so we downloaded the C++ 2010 and pushed it to the real server and the installation went smoothly :)

So yes...the vcredist_x64.exe sure would solve the problem...

Thanks again CRZ
