  • 1.  Migration of NS Tasks from 6.x to 7.x

I have performed 2 test migrations of NS 6 data to an NS 7 server (full data migration), and both times none of our custom tasks migrated over.  Is this a known limitation of the off box migration process?  None of the warnings from the utility made me believe tasks would not migrate.

If so they should have come across as policies, under legacy policies. Or are there other types of tasks?

Software delivery tasks, script tasks, etc. not policies.  The old SWD policies showed up as expected in the legacy folder.

Upon further review, I found a script which moved over, but there is no way to access it that I can see.  The path is Tasks\Task Management\Jobs\... but that is not accessible by choosing any of the menu options (my assumption is it would be under Manage > Jobs and Tasks...).

So it appears they are actually migrating but are not exposed anywhere in the console except via search.  Any idea what is going on?  i am logged in using the Symantec Administrator role so ti is definitely not a permissions issue.

"Deliver software" tasks, then you can view them in "Package Delivery" task folder under "Manage > Jobs and Tasks > Software".

I see the tasks listed there but the organization was lost.  We have scoped security depending on who uses what and this removes that because it is all one flat list.

It also does not account for non software delivery tasks.
