This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello.

Currently we have SEP 11.RU7.MP2 infrastructure and we're going to migrate it to SEP 12.1

Which version of SEP 12.1 we have to use for successful migration - SEP 12.1 RTM, SEP 12.1 RU1 or SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1?

We couldn't find the correct solution in these articles - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH163707&key=54619

Thank you.

It can only be updated with SEP 12.1 RU2 (or higher) which is currently planned for autumn 2012.

At this point you will have to wait till next release.

Upgrading Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager from SEP 11 RU7 MP2 to SEP 12.1 RU1 or SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH189972

you can upgrade to SEP 12.1 RU2 , which will be releasing in coming days.

RU 7 MP2 cannot be upgraded tp SEp 12.1 Ru1 or RU1 MP1

Supported Upgrade paths to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH163514

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11.0 RU7 contains SQL schema changes that are newer than the schema used by Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1. For this reason, migration from 11.0 RU7 to 12.1 is not supported, and is prevented by the installer. Migrations from 11.0 RU7 to 12.1 RU1 are supported

Does anyone know by chance what the release date is for 12.1. RU2?  I heard it will be released no later than Oct. 26th since its necessary to function on Windows 8.

Does anyone know the best place to stay updated.  Or where I can go to be added to a notification list so I can know when exactly it will be released?
