Missing EV client 10.0.2 tab

Hi all,

we have upgraded our EV clients to version 10.0.2 and most of our Outlook 2010 users now don't see the EV tab -- even if the add-in is loaded (valkirye.dll) and the email messages have retained their grey vault icon in the readin pane.

We tried to uninstall (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH53462) and reinstall the client, but it was no help. We also launched the ResetEvclient.exe application, no help.

Any suggestion? Thanks.

So..  what did they have installed 'before' this upgrade took place?

Is Outlook in cached mode, or online mode?

Have you done a client trace of a user which is affected?

Another thing to check is what the policy is set to for RPC Over HTTP Restrictions
By default its set to Disable the client, and Outlook 2010 when it detects a slow connection enables Outlook Anywhere (which is RPC over HTTP)

That being said, you should receive a prompt saying that it has detected RPC over HTTP and disabled the client

You can also check the Managed Add Ons to make sure its not disabled there also

the toolbar buttons disappearing is a known issue with the EV 10.0.3 client combined with Outlook 2010 32-bit installed on Windows 7 64-bit.  Upgrading to 10.0.3 HOTFIX 1 is one fix.  Replacing the 32-bit Outlook with a 64-bit Outlook install is another fix.
