Someone got hold of the symantec client package and used this for the homepc. Is there

a way to block this immediately?

Nopes, I'm afraid you have no recourse to disable/remove the misappropriated SEP client without direct access to the machine itself.

You might be able to get SEP to uninstall itself (using SEPprep) if the SEP client was configured to talk back to your SEPM over the internet, but you wouldn't be able to prevent that user from just reinstalling it again afterwards.

    I'm afraid it's gone.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

What's the SEP version? It's a managed client or unmanaged client? When the license will expired for the same?

    Hi,

If it's a Enterprise Edition then it uses Soft Enforcement.

      Soft Enforcement:

    •  Content update downloads continue from all the sources.
    •  UI changes and log notifications are started.

If it's a Small Business Edition then it uses Hard Enforcement.

    Hard Enforcement:

    • Content update downloads stop for both server and clients. In Small Business Edition it's 1:1 mapping with CAT server.
    • UI changes and log notifications are started.

    Licensing enforcement rules

I think answer is we can't block him via Symantec Liveupdate Server or Licensing Server if it's Enterprise Edition. If it's Small Business Edition client then won't receive any update once the license expired or over-deployed.
