I have several SEP clients that do different things when I push a scan down from the SEPM. a couple clients have a window pop-up showing a scan in progress, some say in the status window they are scanning, most show no indication anywhere that a scan is in progress, however if you try to locally do a scan, it tells you one is in progress in a pop-up window, asking for an OK or cancel.

Is there a way to change the icon near the clock to indicate a scan is underway or have the status screen say (scanning vs. "no problems dected") while scanning via SEPM?

I browsed the various communities, none listed seem appropriate, a clue would be appreciated as to where I might re-post this on the proper fourm for an answer.

You can't change the icon to indicate a scan is in progress. There is no option for this currently.

Are you running different versions of SEP? Do these clients all have the same policy?

There are options to show or hide the progress window.

If you open your AV policy and go to Administrator-Defined Scan >> Advanced tab

The option is at the bottom under Scan Progress Options. What do you have checked?

I am running version 11 across all clients.

I do not see where there is AV policy when I open my SEP on the client.

Under "change settings" there are 4 choices, client management sounds loke a common sense choice, bt the only think you can click on is location, and the only option is "default". The GUI has 2 tabs and everything greyed out.

No there is not a "Administrator-Defined Scan" tab or button anywhere on the SEP client. I am running Symantec Endpoint Protection Ver 11.0.6300. I do not see anything like that on the SEPM either.

    Thanks for your response.

You would need to look at the policy on the SEPM, not the SEP client.
