  • 1.  Mobile Library doesn't show documents on British English iPad

    Posted Feb 28, 2012 10:42 AM

I've setup the Mobile Management Library, but when I'm adding a feed there is no option for British English (only English) and documents aren't showing up in on devices which have been configured as British English. If I change the device to plain english the documents appear.

I can see the query being posted back to the web server to retrive the feed - http://server/iosservices/mobilelibraryfeedproxy.aspx?feedLanguage=en-GB&platformId=04&platformVersion=5.0.1 - and if I load it up in IE i can change the feedLanguage and see the correct information being returned.

Has anyone else seen this issue or found any workarounds other than resetting the language on the iPads?

    Cheers,

    Stu

Not sure what version of MMS you are using but we are aware about the issue for
Symantec Mobile Management 7.1 SP1 and earlier. Do you have it under MMS 7.1 MR1 or MMS 7.1 SP1?

The British English internationalisation uses a different language code than regular English.

Currently, there is no way to get a British English device to view the Mobile Library for English.  The only way to access the Mobile Library is to switch the International setting on the device to run in English mode.

    Hello Stuart,

That was maybe not the outcome you are hoping for but is there anything else I can help you with?
Do you have further questions about this or could we close this request?

Guess you have no further question?

Sorry for not replying to the thread.

I had raised a support case and they agreed that the only way around the issue is to switch the device to English. They said it's a known issue so it should hopefully be fixed in a future release.
