Mobile Management Agents want to communicate with wrong Site Server

Hello I have installed Mobile Management (MM) on our Symantec Management Platform (SMP) server in development environment.

I tested android enrollment with android “device” in VirtualBox. Everything worked correctly so I wanted to test real devices (Android and IOs).

I have added another IP address to our development SMP server and I made the server available from Internet. I also generated SSL certificate for MM with public DNS name. However the hostname of the SMP server was not changed and is a local hostname.

Now I can enroll real Android devices but when I want to download MM policy, send inventory etc. devices look for local host name of the SMP server to communicate.

Is it possible to somehow say to mobile devices to communicate with public DNS name? Where it is configured what IP or host mobile devices use for policy updates and inventory reporting.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Best Regards,

    Ales

    Hi,

i don't know where the option is in the Altiris GUI (there should be one), but you can check the Web.xml.config files placed under ...\Mobile Management\CM\Web\*\Web.xml.config (maybe you have to look in another path, i use the SMM for SCCM plugin).

Hope that helps a little bit..
