Hey,

Please see the attach files that explain our issue with Symantec Mobile Security.

The main issue is that the application is ignoring our Proxy settings.

And the map is not showing the pointer locating the device.

So we can't use the GCM way to control and send command to our devices.

Topology:

Device: Samsung Tab 2.

OS: 4.0.3

Device: Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Device: Samsung Galaxy S2

Just a shot in the dark: is there a MS Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) in your network/that the traffic must pass though?

Please update this thread with details on any security products, etc that are on the servers that the traffic passes through.  Sometimes other vendors' actions interfere with how the product is intended to work: that may be the case here.

Here is a official Symantec response for the case open regarding my issue.

Proxy is not supported.

Topology with a Proxy server between Symantec Management Platform and Google Cloud Messaging is not supported.

I will get more information from the development team if it is planned for future releases and let you know as soon as possible.

Thanks NirHal.  I know it's not supported for Symantec Mobile Management- looks like that might be a good feature for the Ideas proposed for Symantec Mobile Security.
