This issue has been solved. See solution.

I was just kicking through my backup data and came across this odd little tidbit:

On the far right, under modified time, the date is '1.4.197'. does anyone have any ideas about this? i've seen it in multiple instances. thanks!

I'll try to find the one for 2012 but if you can find it that'd be great. I'm not very good at navigating this site. thanks!

the download I got, a boot cd, takes me to disaster recovery ??? something is wrong. It's not affecting my backups and I can't seem to get it to work. Thanks for all of your help everyone!!

Kunal's suggestion should fix the problem, if not please report back or if any assistance is needed with the install.

What is the modified time of the file when you check it with Windows Explorer? If it is also off, then there is nothing wrong with BE.

also have you tried running a repair through Programs and Features.

I actually have never done that and can't find where it is :) i'll look and run it if I find it.

Start > Run> appwiz.cpl

Locate the backup exec installation
