  • 1.  Monitor Alert if Service has not been running for more than 10 minutes

We monitor the Enterprise Vault Storage Service with Monitor Solution. This service normally will stop for a minute or two before starting back up when processing large amounts of data. Is there a way to configure the Service Monitor policy to only alert if the service is not running for more than 10 minutes?

By default, the Windows Service metric checks every 5 minutes.

In your rule for that metric, you can have it set to trigger if it fails twice within 11 minutes.  That should handle your 10 minute thing ok, with minimal changes.

You do that in the Repeat section of the Metric Rule correct?

    Repeat count: 2 Times

    Time Period: 11 minutes
