Hello All,

I am pleased to announce the launch of the Monitor Pack Factor challenge on Symantec Connect. The Pack Factor Challenge coincides with the launch of the Monitor Pack Community on Symantec Connect which customers to upload their custom Monitor Packs in exchange for Connect Reward Points or to find custom Monitor Packs which they may find useful to use in their own environment. This is calling to all of you whom have created a custom Monitor Pack whether it is an Sales Engineer, a Consultant, a Partner, a Support Engineer and/or a Customer to upload your custom packs and enter to the Pack Factor Challenge. The more packs the better. I have created some Basic Monitor Packs which provide basic Monitoring of Altiris Server 7, Package Server Disks and Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Customers can submit any type of Monitor Pack that other customers may find useful. Monitor Packs may vary from a single custom rule and metric to complex rules and metrics. Monitor Packs can be SharePoint Packs, IIS Packs or even Blackberry Enterprise Server Pack. If you do not find the Monitor Pack on Symantec Connect this will be the location where you can submit your request or suggestions for future Monitor Packs and/or feedback.

Appropriately submitted monitor packs will earn 50 bonus points (above and beyond the standard points awarded for downloads). For more information about how to prepare your monitor packs, please read this article. Then, follow these 3 easy steps to submit your monitor pack.

1. Join this group.
2. Upload your monitor pack to Connect by clicking "Create" and then clicking "Download".
3. Make sure that you post the monitor pack to the group by using the "Post to Group Wall" parameter.

The top 3 entries for each month will receive rewards points as judged by the experts:

• 1st place will receive 1500 Connect Rewards points
• 2nd place will receive 1000 Connect Rewards points
• 3rd place will receive 500 Connect Rewards points
