Hi,

We are using Mail Security for SMTP 5.01 version (Win2003) . I am interested in monitoring number of incoming/outgoing messages in a way that it warns me if there has not been any activity in the past hour.
I am familiar with automatic reports which can be send by email but what about sending an email if nothing goes thru ?
Is it possible with SNMP or Performance Monitor and if so how would I achieve it?

Thanks,

Jysse

SMTP 5.x is now EOL, you

SMTP 5.x is now EOL, you might want to think about moving to the appliances or the VM versions.  I've only used the Unix version, but there are no SNMP MIBs for SMS SMTP on that platform.

On the appliances, we send test e-mails through the box every 5 minutes to a mailbox we control and check that it was delivered.
