This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello All,

We are presently running MOSS 2007 with EV 9.0.3 in production. We are now in the process of ugrading our MOSS to 2010 and this also change the MOSS URL's.(for ex. http://moss.dom.com to http://doc.dom.com )

Could you advice the changes that we should consider on EV side to make this migration  seamless ?

Thank you,

RG.

HI RG,

Since Sharepoint is pre-requisiste to installing the EV components on the sharepoint server you will likely have to reinstall the EV components on the sharepoint server again after upgrading to SP 2010.

Additionally, if you are going to change the URL to the site collection you will have to add the new URL as a target in the Vault Admin Console.

Thank you Jim for your quick response.

We have migrated one of the QA sites from MOSS 2007 to 2010 ( DB backup\restore). No change in the URL. After this while trying to open any archived file we are getting the  below error message.

"The file you are trying to open "FileName" is in a different format than specified by the file extension.Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source bedore opening the file "

Any idea what it could be ?

MOSS Migration

Hello,

Below are the steps performed for migrating from MOSS 2007 to 2010 .

-Backup of the MOSS DB
-Restored using a new name for the DB
-Use the same MOSS URL
-Performed a “Mount-SPContentDatabase”

Now when we try to open an archived file  (via shortcut )from MOSS 2010, it is opening the file as a link . Error message is

"The file you are trying to open "FileName" is in a different format than specified by the file extension.Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source bedore opening the file "

Appreciate any help !
