  • 1.  Move clients to a new created domain in SEPM

    Hi,
I just created a new domain to deleted the admin of some clients.

The problem is that I have all my clients in 1 domain, now I want to move some clients to the newly created domain.

Is that posible? Or should I manually update the symlink.xml file in each client´s PC?

    Thanks
    Oliver

You will have to Replace the sylink using sylinkreplacer
    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/downloads/sylinkreplacer-tool-connecting-sep-clients-sepm
When a new doamin is created it generates a new Domain ID to which client communicates. The NEw Domain will have a new set of Sylink.xml files. So you need to replace the new sylink.xml

This is one of those things I wish you could do via SEPM.  We routinely have machines that jump around divisions or that get installed with the wrong divisions installer.  One can only hope....going to post new idea, I didn't find one via search. www-secure.symantec.com/connect/idea/allow-sepm-admins-move-computers-between-sepm-domains
