Ghost Solution Suite

I have 300 clients on a Ghost server running v 8.0.0.984
I have a new Ghost server running Solution Suite 1 (v 8.3.0.1331)
Both servers have diferent names.
I wish to move all my existing machines to the new server.
Currently the only way I can do it is to
Install solution suite 1
Restart the machine
Uninstall Solution Suite 1
Restart the machine
Install solutions Suite 1
Restart the machine.
Once the client is on this machine I can take an image of it, then using a boot CD manually go to each of the 20 or so machines that image will apply to and manually boot them into a ghost cast server.
Following this I then need to individually rename each machine.
Oh what a time consming task, the result is satisfactory and It will only have to be done once but surely there is a quicker way.
Given that a client already exists ont h workstation SS1 will not remotly install a new one so I have to go through the process above.
Is it possible to manually copy the new client over the old one or can the old client be edited to change the name of the Ghost server.

There is a certificate file that Symantec uses to tell it which server to connect to. It is located in the Ghost install directory both on the server and the clients. It is called pubkey.crt. so you will need to copy this from the new server and replace it on all of the clients. Then you will need to either restart each client or restart the Symantec Ghost Client service. I noticed the versions are different. So if all goes well the clients will show up in the "Default" machine group but with an Exclamation point. The next task you execute on the client should upgrade it automatically.

Just curious why you are using the Boot CD instead of using the console?

I was using a boot CD as I was unable to see the workstations via the console due to the incorrect client being loaded.
