  • 1.  Move Ghost Console 2.01 to new server

    I am having touble moving our console from one server to another.
     
    I have followed the instructions in the knowledge base: http://entkb.symantec.com/security/output/n2001050812540225.html
     
    However when trying to start the Symantec Ghost Config Server service I get the message:
     
    28000 [sysbase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Anywhere]Invalid user ID or password
     
    Both old and new consoles are version 11.0.1.1533
     
    Any help would be appreciated

    KB article is out of date for the GSS 2.0
    you have to do it as following step.
     
    1. kill ngtray.exe process from task manager
    2. run ngserver -uninstall from cmd(you have to goto c:\program files\symantec\ghost\)
    3. import registry key by double clicking it
    4. run ngserver -install
     
    key point is that you have to kill ngtray.exe before you import it.
