I opened a case for this to get information from Symantec Tech support but wanted additional input from anyone else who may have done this in the past.
Has anyone had to move their Information Server (BVIS) from one machine to another? We are looking at the option of doing so and while I did see information in the KB about disaster recover I wanted to see if there was an easier path to acomplish this.
We have a large number of reports we run to check application access rights which range from SQL, Oracle and Windws reports The reports write out data found to xml files for teired dashboard use as well as xls files (where records found > 1). There are well over 600 of these in addition to other nightly reports we schedule.
Because of time contraints related to the data and work needed by other team members with this data, I wanted to look at moving the data on teh BVIS (reports, credentials, agentless unix machines, databases, users etc etc etc) over to another server and divide up the reports when they run.
has anyone done this in the past?
