Hi,

I have an ev server 2007 on one hardware
I have an exchange 2003 server on another. There are about 500 users in this old exchange hardware e.g old server

I would like to setup another additional exchange 2003 (e.g newserver). If I move about 250 users to this new hardware, will the EV email archiving still work and what
additional steps do i need to take.

In another scenario, let say, if I purchase a new powerful server and setup an additional server exchange 2003 and then decomission the old exchange server, what do i need to do on the ev to ensure the new hardware  is known by EV for archivin

Yobo, All you need to do is

Yobo,

All you need to do is add the new exchange server as a target and move the mailboxes.  Enterprise Vault will carry on working as per normal.

Enterprise Vault writes a hidden msg into the users mailbox, therefore you can move the mailbox around as you like and Enterprise Vault will handle that mailbox and his Archive just fine.  So no issues aether with moving users off an exchange server and decommissioning it.
