Moving current Backup Exec 12 d to another server

Created: 14 Apr 2008 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 3 comments
I need to move the current instance of BE 11d to a new server but would like to keep all jobs, media sets etc...

Is there anyway to export this information and then import it in or is there a better way to migrate all of this?

I am eligible to download the new version of of BE 12.  is it possible to install 12 and migrate 11d information to it?

Thanks,
Darin McHenry

Did you try the Utility?

Run: \Symantec\Backup Exec\NT\BEUtility.exe

In the right pane, right-click the server you want to move the instance from, then select "New Backup Exec Database Location"

Says it's for v10 and v11, but should work for v12 also
