Hi, I am moving to SEP from Kaspersky and I am wondering the best way to remove kaspersky and install SEP whilst maintaining protection, as far as I have read I need to uninstall Kaspersky first the install SEP? Are there any applications which will do this for me? Thanks for you help.

Yes you can use the competitive uninstaller which can be found in CD2 of SEPM

    Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_11.0.5_AllWin_EN_CD2\Tools\NoSupport\CompetitiveUninstall
these are scripts available to Kaspersky
    Kapersky6_Servers.aut
    Kapersky6_Workstation.aut
Please read the PDF you should be good to go : )

You may also want to try the "Find Unmanaged Computers" tool in SEPM. I've used it before to remove McAfee. Not sure if it will work for Kaspersky but it won't hurt to give it a try.

Should work over Kapersky too. I still prefer the competitive uninstaller but this should work. Below are some guides in case you want to try it.

Best Practices: When to use the "Find Unmanaged Computers" or "Unmanaged Detector" features in Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0

Also, from watching the video on SEPPrep, that may do it as well but I don't think that comes out until RU6.
