This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi
I have SEP MR4MP2 on 2003 server ( 32 bit) with MS SQL. I have the back of the database from the SEPM.
Now am planning to restore the same database back of from the 32 bit on a New server ( 2003 server 64 bit) with the same ip address and computer name.
I aware of the Disaster recovery and successfully done on 2 occasion .Now i need to do the same in this scenario
Will this work ??.

YES

Yes it will work. I have worked on similar case .The only difference was that the customer had SEP MR4. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is you need to follow the disaster recovery properly. Please make sure that SEPM uses the same IIS Port after the uninstall.

I'd suggest you to upgrade to

I'd suggest you to upgrade to MR4 first if you do not have to stick with MR2.

As prachand says, database is not affected by the 32bit or 64bit options. This differentiation is only for executables, services, drivers and dll's etc.

Another option would be to

Another option would be to install the new SEPM on the 64 bit server, configure replication (or you could use the existing DB) and point all the clients to the new server. Once this is done, decommision the old server. More practical since you dont actually have a disaster recovery situation.
