  • 1.  Moving SQL DB from DS server to SQL only server

    I'd like some advice, currently our Altiris Deployment server (6.9 SP5 MR3) and SQL (SQL 2005) instance are on the same DS server. I've been asked to research whether it is a good idea to split off the SQL database to a separate server from the Deployment server. Our experience in the past with a configuration like this is that it can be a significant problem, (deadlock issues).

    If this is not a problem,  I'd like to know if there is any available documentation on what this SQL DB move entails.

    Hi,

    exclusive database-server is always a good idea for best performance.
