This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello,

We are using Enterprise Vault 9 SP2 and currently migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010.

I have a question regarding the Vault Service Account.

It is currently mail-enabled and its mailbox is hosted in Exchange 2007.

It is said in the whitepaper that "The existing Vault Service account can be used for both Exchange environments (2007 and 2010) but will need to be mail enabled (if not already) and that mailbox should be hosted in the Exchange 2010 environment."

As I understand this, it seems that there will be no impact on the EV9 environment if I move the VSA mailbox to Exchange 2010 but I'd like to know if you experienced any issue in the EV9 environment after moving this mailbox to Exchange 2010?

Thank you for your help

It's actually the first time

It's actually the first time the VSA has ever needed a mailbox, it will not impact anything and is something I've had to do to get our environment to archive from 2010, it's an absolutely solid prerequisite

Someone else earlier had the same concerns on this thread
