I have installed MR2 Beta latest release.  so far after deploying packages so clients that were connecting to SEP started to update.  the one thing that still seems broken to me is that even when i only have 10 clients at remote locations with a GUP to update anti-virus definitions is very time consuming, and kills the terminal sessions for those users.  I thought GUP was going to help with WAN issues?

another question can i mass deploy the package, so the syslink.xml will update or do i have to keep using the syslinktool?  out of my 300 clients only 130 have connected.

that's all.

If you haven't done so already, you need to submit these issues on the beta site.

Keep in mind that this is beta software and not release quality yet, there will still be bugs in it, that may already be fixed in further builds that have not been released to testers.

If you push install the package, it "should" update the sylink.xml file on the client, but if it doesn't for some reason, the SyLinkDrop tool should take care of that issue.

Sounds like your rolling out the beta to your full production environment.  Keep in mind according to the beta agreement:

3. TERM AND TERMINATION. Participant will have the right to use the Beta Software for the Purpose for a period not to exceed 90 days from the Effective Date of the applicable exhibit (“Test Period”). This License will expire at the end of the Test Period unless terminated earlier at any time by Participant or Symantec for any reason. Upon expiration or termination of this License, Participant will destroy and erase from computer memory the Beta Software together with all copies, modifications and merged portions in any form. If requested by Symantec, Participant will certify in writing within three (3) days of the request that Participant has complied with the terms of this provision. THE BETA SOFTWARE MAY CONTAIN CODE THAT WILL DISABLE THE BETA SOFTWARE UPON EXPIRATION OF THE TEST PERIOD.

What this means is that according to these terms, the day that the beta ends, you must uninstall the beta software, even if the release MR2 is not yet avaiable for download.

Two days before release and MR2 is still in Beta. It sound like the release is being delayed.

The most recent version that beta testers have access to is a Release Candidate, which is still part of the beta lifecycle.
