[mr3 (german) upgrade] massive problem with SEP rollout

the SEPM MR3 upgrade attached the SEP-package to the client groups, but only roundabout half of the clients upgraded correctly to the new build (previously MR2), the other half tries to install the SEP client over and over again making those PCs almost unusable.
the most important question right now: how can the rollout be stopped so that the clients don't try to install MR3?
trying to manually update the clients with the MR3 package breaks during installation at 'Status: Installations-Cache wird erstellt' - even after running cleanwipe v3 - any idea about this?

I have a lot of clients that after doing cleanwipe, ... the installation always rollout. The problem was LiveUpdate, so I solved doing:
* Cleanwipe
* Delete C:\Program files\symantec
* Delete C:\Program files\symantec antivirus
* Delete C:\Program files\Common Files\Symantec Shared
* Delete C:\documents and settings\all users\program data\symantec
* Install first Liveupdate --> Lusetup.exe on client installation directory
* Install SEP
thx for your reply - removal and re-installation of liveupdate seems to solve the problem (even without running cleanwipe), at least one can install the SEP-package without a problem.
