MR4 upgrade problems?

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I recently upgraded from MR3 to MR4 both the SEPM and Clients.  Ever since the upgrade none of users are showing green dots in the management console but the client side is showing the green dot.  I used the upgrade package feature to deploy the client so i know communication is not the issue.  I have tried unistalling the client and reinstalling with no change in green dot status.  If anyone else has experience this issue and found a fix I would greatly appreciate a little help.  Thank you.

How did you update the clients?  Through the SEPM console or through another method?   This sounds like an issue we've seen with earlier versions and a problem with multiple data records for a single system.

I have tried 3 different ways of deploying the client with the same results.  First used SEPM Console to assign the new package to my groups and keep user settings.  Second i used the migration and deployment wizard to install the client and lastly I manually uninstalled the client and reinstalled.  All three methods produce the same result.  The client side shows a green dot but not in the managment console.  I started using endpoint at MR3 so there are not any other versions out there.  When I upgraded the console I followed the instructions line for line and everthing was successful.

Stanleyj, any luck in solving your problems?

I am about to upgrade to MR4 from MR3 and are reading all available threads on potential problems before I start.

Just an update on the green dot situation.  I sat on the phone with support yesterday for 2 and a half hours with no resolution to the problem.  The tech remoted into my server and worked on it and could not get the icons on the manager to show a managed green dot.  He tooks some of my logs and said he would contact me back after some senior engineers looked at it. So maybe when I hear back from him i will have some answers to post.  Just for some clarification my client side shields are showing green dots it is just the icons in the manager that are not.  But the wierd thing is every client shows accurate information and is updating properly.  Me and the tech did try a repair on the SEPM and a reinstall of a client.  No change.

My problem has been solved.  All of my client are now showing green dots in the management console.  After several day of working with sysmantec they finall asked if I would do a disaster recovery install.  I printed the steps off of the symantec site reloaded my server and viola one by one all of my clients as they check in started showing managed once again.

Symantec - is this something that has already or will be fixed? I am planning on installing MR4 this week and would like to know if this is something that I can expect to have to deal with during the "upgrade".

I am planning to upgrade our servers to MR4. But waiting with the clients.

Does the problem with the "green dot" also exist in the combination SEPM MR4 / Clients MR3 ?

Best Regards,

Andreas

Guys, try to delete some (3-5) of your clients from the manager interface. Do they reconnect? Do they have green dots now?
