MS Action Center on two Windows 8 laptops are reporting that Symantec is turned off. However, the Symantec icon is still showing the green dot, like everything is fine. What would cause this miscommunication?
What is the exact version here? Is it Windows 8 or 8.1? There was a similar bug in an older vresion.
You may want to run a repair on the SEP client to see if it re-registers.

Only 12.1.4 and higher are supported on 8.1. Are you at least on this version? I know 12.1.4 had a bug related to security center but would need to dig deeper into it.

One was deployed a week or two ago. The other one I deployed a few months back. How do I do a repair? Is there a Symantec utility or would this through "Add Remove Programs"?
Just through add/remove programs.
