MS SQL DB Restore

Hi all,

I'm trying to restore a MS SQL DB to an alternative SQL Server.

But Im not sure how. I mean by restoring an from a fileserve i can do an restore to altenative / another server (Restoreredirect)

But how it works with MS SQL?

With SQL it is also possible to redirect the restore.

just to be sure.

If I do that how it shown in the screenshots, they are no risk for the original db?

I mean Im just trying / testing the restore process to an alternative server and the source db is a live db where users are working with. Don't want to bring the original db offline or inconsistent.

No, Original DB will not be modified when you redirect.
