MS SQL Proper Backup Job Setup?

This issue has been solved. See solution.

First time setting up a Microsoft SQL backup job, and any feedback would be appreciated.

Database: SQL 2008 Standard

Weekly Full

  • Backup Method: Full - Back up entire database or filegroup
  • Consistency check before backup: Full check, include indexes.
  • Consistency check after backup: Full check, include indexes.
  • Use Checksum on backups (SQL 2005 or later)
  • SQL Server (2008 or later) software compression.

Daily Differential

  • Backup Method: Differential - Back up database or file group changes only.
  • Consistency check before backup: Full check, include indexes.
  • Consistency check after backup: Full check, include indexes.
  • Use Checksum on backups (SQL 2005 or later)
  • SQL Server (2008 or later) software compression.

Daily Log Backup (after differential)

  • Backup Method: Log - Back up transaction log.
  • Consistency check before backup: Full check, include indexes.
  • Consistency check after backup: Full check, include indexes.
  • Use Checksum on backups (SQL 2005 or later)
  • SQL Server (2008 or later) software compression.

I'm probably going overboard, but I'm paranoid about losing any data.  Again any feedback would be appreciated. wink
