    Hi,

I am new to Symantec Ghost and I was trying to do a remote install from my 2003 Server to my XP Pro computer.  Upon remote install, I selected XP Pro from the network and input its credentials.  When I go to run it, it calculates free disk space, then says the install failed.  According to the log file, this is the error I get:

\\XP (73): Installation: Msiexec failed with error: 1603

Any idea how I go about fixing this?  Thank you.

    Hi,

1603 is a very generic error code. The easiest thing to do is to run the client installation manually and see where it fails. Client.msi is in \Program files\Symantec\Ghost\ClientInstall folder in Console.

Tricky, check out my thread on this same error. Maybe it will fix your problem too and maybe I can get an answer to my question.
