This issue has been solved. See solution.

I'm currently running MSME v6.0.9.286 and noticed today that there is a newer v6.0.10.295 now available.  There doesn't appear to be a Release Notes file that I can download and I don't really want to run a 448MB executable on my server just in case.  Wondering if someone might happen to know:

1)  what's new in MSME v6.0.10.295; and

2)  what is the upgrade process?

It looks to me like a full reinstall, which troubles me a bit as I have recently battled with a few licensing issues on the mailserver and don't want to risk upsetting it, especially on a Friday (!) ... and I also don't want to risk losing existing settings.  Will it retain all my existing settings if I apply the update?

Here is the release notes

Here is the release notes document for Mail Security 6. It will be updated any time a new version is released:

Title: 'Release Notes for Symantec Mail Security 6.0.x for Microsoft Exchange / Symantec Information Foundation Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange'
Document ID: 2007101212030454
> Web URL: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-gate.nsf/...

As far as isntallation goes, it it a full install package but when it sees a version currently installed it simply performs an upgrade keeping all your settings and license files intact. You should always do a backup of your settings just in case. Here a document explaining all this:

Title: 'How to upgrade to Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange 6.x'
Document ID: 2008011613335754
> Web URL: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-gate.nsf/...

In the DOCS folder in the download there is an implementation guide. That is where we get the information to publish in these documents.
