    I am trying to re-install my symantec program. It is already on the computer, but when I click the application it tells me that I am missing the msvcr71.dll

    I looked online...everyone is trying to sell me a registry cleaner. I would rather not buy a program. would someone guide me through the steps to install the .dll file?

    The MSVCR stands for Microsoft visual C++ Redistributable... You should be able to download this from Microsoft. What is the product you are attempting to install? So we can be sure you are in the right forum section.

    Which version of Scan Engine is currently installed and which version are you trying to install? What is the OS your server is running? What is the application that you open to get this error?
