My job allows us to download and use Symantec Endpoint Portection at home.  The version I have is 11.0.6005.562.  However, I am having issues with it.  I was thinking updating would get rid of them, but I am having a hard time with that too.

My first issue is when ever I restart my computer my Network Threat Protection is active and detects a threat on 75.75.75.75.  The result is it blocks all my attempts to access the internet.  So far, my work around has been to deactivate Network Threat protection.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Second issue.  Recently symantec has been popping up with tons of dwh*.tmp threats that are quaranteed.  This happened once before, but I had to format my computer for some other reason and it went away.

Third issue, I can't figure out how to update from 11.0.6005.562 to the most recent version.

Can anyone help me?  I am getting frustrated.

upgrade to latest version SEP 12.1 Ru4.

if you have fileconnect serial number you should be using that to download latest SEP version.

    check this link for workaround

Upgrade your SEP on latest SEP 12.1.4

When new virus definitions are in place and the quarantine is being scanned, a DWH file is created and detected by Auto-Protect

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102953

DWH***.tmp files are detected in the user profile temp directory.

    Hi Kasmo15,

I recommend running a full system scan on that computer with SEP.  If SEP is blocking malicious traffic to a domain or remote IP every time the computer boots, then chances are something malicious on your computer is trying to go there looking for updates or similar.

    Definitely do upgrade, as well!
