Multiple routes for a workflow
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 3 comments
Hey all.
*** Update ***
This is really strange. In one of my test workflow projects this isn't a problem but in another on it cannot be done.
Workflow designer seems a little bit buggy.

In the demo movie "Demo_Parallel_Workflow_New_Hire_Request.wmv" Symantec is presenting how models are executed in parallel using the "linked model" component.
In that movie the workflow have it's path splitted from an "send email" component to 4 "linked model" components BUT when I try this the "send email" component tells me it doesn't accept "multiple output paths". I have tried several components but all of them has the same behaviour.
Does anyone know how to get the components to accept multiple output paths?
Cheers,
Patrik

Where is that video? I didn't know it was possible to setup your own parallel processing in Workflow.
I'd like to try it out!
You don't need that video to
You don't need that video to try it out by yourself. Just add a "linked model" or a "embedded model" component for your parallel paths and a "wait for all workflow" component at the end. You need to add the advanced workflow library to be able to use the "wait for all workflow" component.

I tried this out too and I was unsuccessful. I added in the Workflow.Advanced.DLL file and also placed the wait for all workflow component at the end with no resolution. Is there something that I'm missing? Do I need to edit a component to allow mulitple outputs?
