Multiple stream disk backup runs at an avg 25 MB/s but once down to 1 stream speed drops to 1-2MB/s.
I have an NFS mounted disk backup appliance on Gig-E, I have a backup setup to do 3 streams to split up 3 TB of data to be backed up. When I run tape against against these streams I get about 20-23 MB/s for each stream to LTO-1 drives. When I run it with the disk storage unit I get about 23-25 MB/s on all three streams. But for the last few days, since a reboot, I am seeing that once two of the streams finish, the last stream drops to 1-2 MB/s and never gets completed before the backup is automagically killed later that night to prepare for the next backup.
I suspended the job and that stream but it still will not continue. All thsi happened after a reboot but it makes no sense why this is now an issue where is had not been before. It is very odd that it would run 3 streams for an aggregate of 75 MB/s, so it does not appear to be disk or network related, but then drops down as soon as on that last single stream.
Anyone else had this problem yet and have a solution?
