  • 1.  Must Delete and Predefine Computers Before Imaging

    Hello,  

    We are on SMP 7.6 HF , using WinPE 5, and have an issue with deployment of images.  Anywhere from 1/3 to all of a set of computers will time out and fail without imaging whether by scheduled task or PXE boot.  If the same computers are deleted from SMP and recreated as predefined computers they image just fine. Half the time we are using essentially a manual process which just isn't acceptable. This has been ongoing for weeks and we are considering going to SCCM. We had a Symantec engineer go through our SMP - he found a few settings that needed correction, but nothing major. The problem persists. Is anyone experiencing anything similar?  I checked with our server admin who assured me he had regenerated the PXE boot files after each HF.

    We received the results of a survey by a Symantec engineer that points out some potentially significant issues with the way our SMP is set. So we have a laundry list of changes to make. There for I would like to withdraw this question for the time being...
