Must reboot remote server before backups will run

I am using BE 11d Rev. 7170 on a Windows 2003 server. I am attempting to backup a remote Win 2k3 with the remote agent installed. My daily backup will constantly fail with the error "0xe00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed" for all of the remote server shares unless I reboot the remote server. After a reboot of the remote server I will get a successful backup. I have restarted the service and reinstalled the remote agent. I never lose access to the shares across the network from this server and I have run a continuous ping test for several days with no failure to communicate. There aren't any errors in the event log on either server. I'm stumped at this point! Any thoughts?

It is probably something to

It is probably something to do with "file and print services" on the target server. Check for any events on the target server. Also, as a side note, you may try backup directly through the drive letter instead of through shares. Browse to the folder from actual location on the drive and do the backup.

Please mark it a solution, if this is useful.
Thanks

Unfortunately this did not

Unfortunately this did not resolve my issue. As I mentioned there is nothing in the event log on either server that indicates an issue during the backup. What exactly should I be looking for with file and print services?
