    Hello People
We are try to find the reason about why the Symantec Virus Deffinition do not update automactly on my clients.

I see the most recent Virus Definition on my SEMS (Symantec Endpoint Manager Server) 2010-02-18 rev. 065 Feb 19, 2010
But in my client i just see the Sunday February 07 2010 r21
I got most old date on the Proactive Prot. and Network Prot. definitions.

    How Can I fix This?
I try update policy but nothing happend.

    Thanks

    open sepm
    admin servers
show liveupdate downloads, do you see the date of 32 and 64 bit downloads to todays date ? or its just 32 bit?
whats the version of sepm you are running?
PTP and NTP updates are not released everyday
lets know the date on your sepm  downloads section..

Symantec Endpoint Protection clients do not update definitions or signatures with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) installed on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

clients are communicating with the manager with green dot?

    Hello Rafeeq

    Here the solution:

    For Windows 2000/2003/XP
    1. Stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection Services:
      1. Click the Start button and then click Run
      2. Type services.msc and click OK
      3. Right-click Symantec Management Client and click Stop.
      4. Right-click Symantec Endpoint Protection and click Stop.
      5. Minimize the Services window

Note: If you are unable to stop the Symantec Management Client you will need to temporarily disable Tamper Protection. Please see the Technical Information at the bottom of this document for instructions.

    2. Delete the data from the Definition folders:
      • Virus Definitions
        C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs\
        - Delete all files and subfolders
      • Delete the downloaded data in the c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\symantec\liveupdate\downloads

Then, start the services and all my clients start to update the virus definitions.

    Thanks for your help.
