Hi everybody, I have problem with memory

I have laptop Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5535

CPU:   Intel Core2Duo T5450 @ 1.66Ghz
Motherboard:   Z17M2.0 Fujitsu Siemens
BIOS: Phoenix, version 1.12
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3

Now, I have 2 memory modules into memory slots ( 2x1GB), but I can see only 1.5GB in my System Properties General.
When I try to put 2 memory modules with 2GB (2x2GB) I can see only 2.75GB, not 4GB.
In Windows Task Manager my Physical Memory is 2880612K. My Video graphic adapter takes only 256MB.

Did anybody have the same problem, and how I can resolve that ?
p.s   I would like to see 4GB RAM in my System Properties General

I suspect that one of the

I suspect that one of the memory controllers on your motherboard is going out, or you have some bad memory chips.  The first thing to try would be to update our BIOS to the current version, then if it still does not see it in OS(BTW-you will never see 4GB in System Properties General unless you go with a 64 bit version of Windows) run the Fujitsu Siemens diagnostics, which is avaible over at http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/com/support/linkapplication.html?LNG=EN&ID=25510

I think the memory

I think the memory controllers on my motherboard are functional, becouse I verified it. I put memory chips , both, first in one and later in second slot. When I put first memory chip ( 2GB ) into my computer, in system properties general I see 1.75GB, but when I put both inside then I see 2.75 GB. WTF :P :)
let me help someone pls. How can see the most memory in my system general properties, with my 32bit windows xp pro ?

It's Windows XP...

I'm assuming this is Windows XP 32-bit?  Windows XP 32-bit OS can only "see" 3GB of RAM.  If you want your system to see all 4GB, then you have to install a 64-bit OS, which of course, requires a 64-bit CPU.

Vista and Windows 7 can see all 4GB ??? Does anybody know?

Windows 7 certainly sees all

Windows 7 certainly sees all 8gb in my machine, but again it's probably irrelevant as it's a 64bit OS, and my 32bit Windows 7 machine only has 2Gb in it.

Vista should probably be skipped completely if you are thinking of moving OS. Windows 7 is release officially next month and I must say it's damn awesome.
