n00b having trouble with "boot Wizard"

I have been tasked with evaluating Ghost solution Suite for our company's R&D / Manufacturing needs.  My list of requirements isn't huge - but I can't get that far because when I try to make a bot disk using the "boot disk wizard", my system reboots.  It just REBOOTS.

I'm running the eval of solution suite (help>about shows version 11.5.1.2266).

What I am trying to do is run the "Boot Wizard", which I expected, based on the documentation, to walk me through creating bootable media so I can test the whole ghostcasting aspect of Solution Suite, which is pretty much the core of my requirements.

I have tried downloading another copy of the EXE (thinking mine might be corrupt) - same result.

I am running on a 2003 server box with full admin rights.

I suspect I'm missing something simple here - Any help would be *great*!

    thanks

.....ummmm. That's the wierdest thing I've ever heard. Have you run a RAM test lately?? Got bad sectors? This sounds like a potential hardware issue.

The EXE file is a zip archive so it check sums when it decompresses. You would know if your download was bad.

Anyway, if I was in your shoes I would do two things.

    1. To get the boot wizard working install GSS in a VM or on another PC and create your boot images. Besure you replace the certs from your "temp" server w/ the "real" server's certs.

    2. Call support and get to the bottom of your problem. I've been on the phone several times with these guys and they're pretty sharp.

If I remember the boot wizard does have an XML dependancy or something. You may be missing some MSFT addon. You can search the forum for that. There's also a patch floating out there to update to 2269 or something.

    Good luck.
