NB 7.? Wouldn't it be nice
Wouldn't it be nice if we could....
Pause(suspend) a duplication job...sure it would have to finish the image it is currently working on....but what if I have to bounce the media server or library because of a problem. Sure the duplications would start again on the images it is currently working on....but it would be cleaner if we could suspend a duplication.
Change the destination of a duplication....example-I have 2 tape libraries with 2 drives each. For whatever reason I want to move some duplications that are queued to the other library. I think this would be a nice feature.
Change the destination of a running backup....suspend the backup, change the destination to anothr library-drive-disk pool...whatever. The software would be smart enough to copy what has already been written to the new destination then remove it from the original.
These are just a few off the top of my head....more to come later.

I couldn't agree more with hoping for ability to suspend duplications.
I have added my thoughts to this Idea: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/ideas/storage-lifecycle-policies-slp-scheduling-windows-are-coming-help-us-finish-them
Maybe post separate Ideas for each of your thoughts? Come back and post URL's - we will vote. (Although I'm not entirely convinced that Product Managers actually LOOK at these Ideas.......
)

You can post netbackup enchantment ideas here :

But as Marianne say we have doubt that Netbackup product management actually look at the ideas.
Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.
