One Win2K8 R2 for CAS/HT,                 NBU all-in-one, DC (2008 level)
One Win2K8 R2 for Mailbox role only, NBU Client only.
Some mails in administrator inbox already.

I followed the guide to fill out the account of NBU Client Service and enable GRT for my policy, also I fill out the mail account in Host properties -> Client -> Exchange.
Backup works well.
Only restore job failed. No matter granular restore or full DB restore. Same error.

Have you opened a call with Symantec yet?

Supporting Storage Foundation and VCS on Unix and Windows as well as NetBackup on Unix and Windows
Handy NBU Links

No.
Could someone have met this issue and resolve it here?
It's strange.

Some update:
I also installed Exchange 2010 management tools before NBU installation on the tow Win2K8 R2 boxes.

xkdcc's picture

Do you think it would be configuration error with my Exchange 2010?

Would someone tell me some key points about Exchang 2010 installation?
Appreciate!

Because NB7 is still a FA release i dont think your going to find much help here.  If this is a production exchange server i highly recommend getting a case open as Marianne already mentioned.

Fortunately, It's not a production exchange server  :)

One more update:

If I added Exchange 2010 CAS role to the box which only installed  Mailbox role and NBU Client only, the restore finished successfully.

I've read the Release Notes, and found this statement there:

Intermittent failures can occur when you attempt to browse or restore a mailbox from an Exchange GRT image from a Windows 2008 R2 Exchange server.   When you attempt to browse or restore an Exchange mailbox from a GRT   image from a Windows 2008 R2 Exchange server, you may experience failures.   To work around this issue, try the browse or restore operation again. Symantec   and Microsoft are working on a solution for this problem.
So, most probably it's either well-known issue or at least SYMC has EEB for some systems. I'd suggest to open a case with the support and ask them directly about this remark in the Release Notes and ask if they have EEB for it or not yet.

I'm doing a POC and I'm having the same issue:  Check below link for possible workaround.

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/354852.htm

I tried the workaround but issue persist (except installing cas on mbx server), anybody have a solution?
