This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

Is there a way to copy & paste a SLP?

I have to setup dozens of SLP's which are all the same D2D > AIR > D2T apart from the final tape media pool, depending on company / legal entity.

I'm hoping I can use 1 as a template & copy the rest, maybe there is a particular file or directory that I copy & edit?

NBU 7.1.0.2 on Win2008R2

thx in advance

Rich

GUI

You can copy a SLP using the GUI. You can't however copy multiple SLP in one go.

GUI -> Storage -> SLP - Select SLP - Right Click -> Copy.

This will bring up a dialog for the new SLP. I could also image a script could do the job.

I can't recommend copy files manual in the Netbackup installation - it's highly unsupported.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

Really, hmm, thats a bit obvious & I tried it but its greyed out.

Maybe the full fat client doesnt have the option. Perhaps you did this with the java gui?

update...

However, the volume pool drop down only lists the original pool!

I have to switch back the full fat client to change the pool.

Its a workaround I can live with I guess.

try a second pull down

Somtimes the list is populated on a try number 2.

I also found this T/N: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH172159 - titled: BUG REPORT: The 7.1.0.2 Java Console no longer populates the correct information in several areas of the GUI.

Try number 2, 3, 4 etc did

Try number 2, 3, 4 etc did not work. I guess we will need to wait for patch 7.1.0.3.
