This issue has been solved. See solution.

I’m currently working on NBU 7.5 on cluster environment  (SLES 11 SP2 x64, only Master Server will be on cluster).

Are NBU 7.5 and VCS 6 compatible on each other? because I didn't see VCS v.6 listed in NBU 7.5 compatible document.

and do I need Storage Foundation or just VCS is ok?

If it's not listed in the compatibility matrix is not supported.

I would recommend using Storage Foundation HA - That include both VxVM,VxFS and VCS. I have been running SF HA for years on Linux and it work really well.

VxVM and VxFS is really a enterprise file system where ext3 and ext4 isn't there quite yet.

Cluster Compatibility matrix.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

I have RHEL clustered master on SF/HA 6.0 in lab environment. Installation, config etc was 100% successful.

I have NEVER tried to use VCS without SF......

I suggest attending a 5-day VCS training course, preferrably Storage Foundation as well. Extremely important that you understand the basics of components, terminology, how to provide the basic storage components, al the basic of VCS, requirements, installation, configuration, etc. Else, pay a Symantec cunsulting partner to come and do that for you and provide knowledge transfer of the basics during installation and configuration.

NBU has a Clustered Master manual, but it does not include SF/HA basics.
NetBackup Clustered Master Server Administrator's Guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5184

For 'Getting Started' and all other SF/HA manuals, go to https://sort.symantec.com/documentation

Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability is about two-thirds down the page.

For training information, see the 'Training' link at the bottom of this page.
