  1. What are the examples of such devices?
  2. These are connected to media servers?
  3. Datadomain,pure disk are the examples?

Datadomain, pure disk and other deduplication product.

2.These are connected to media servers?

Yes, 5000 series supports for media server whereas 5200 series support for master and media servers

NetBackup 5200 series - a single-vendor enterprise backup appliance with deduplication
•5200: enterprise backup appliance with 32TB storage
•5220: enterprise backup appliance with expandable storage starting at 4TB.

NetBackup 5000 series - a scalable deduplication appliance for the enterprise
•5000: global deduplication pool scalable from 16TB to 96TB
•5020: global deduplication pool scalable from 32TB to 192TB

Yes..You can install either datadomain or puredisk according to your requirement and availablity.

Data Domain is a totally separate 3rd party appliance sold by EMC that has its own OS and dedupe software. DD provides OST plugin to work with NBU. 
You cannot install Data Domain on NBU appliances.

Please check NBU HCL for NBU and 3rd party appliance support and features.

PS: You have previously asked about NBU Media Server Dedupe (which is used by the 52xx series) - please go through your older posts to refresh your memory...
