This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi all

i have a Problem whith a NBU 7.5.0.4 MediaServer whith local HP LTO4 Standalone Drives. As far as i know the AVR Deamon should recognize when a Tape is ejected and a new one is inserter into a Standalone Drive.

My Problem is that when eject a Tape from the Drive and insert a new one the avr deamon does not recognize this and keeps showing the old media label. i have to restart the media manger services. After this the new media id is cleanly recognized and displayed by NBU.

Any ideas much appreciated.

kind regards

Christoph

OS on media server?

Tape driver used?
Firmware on tape drive?

We have seen something similar in this forum a couple of months ago.
Problem was fixed with updated firmware on tape drive.

Will see if I can find the post.

Here is the post that I referred to above: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/automount-tape-standalone-drive

Problem was resolved with new firmware 3 months later...

Best to log call with hardware vendor and Symantec ASAP as per my suggestion here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/automount-tape-standalone-drive#comment-6559431
