I have not personally tested

I have not personally tested this, but evey bit of my Solaris and NBU knowledge tells me it should be fine.
Do you have another system (like a DR master) to test a restore?

Supporting Storage Foundation and VCS on Unix and Windows as well as NetBackup on Unix and Windows.

Be carefull

UFS dump only dump the local file system, so if you have split Netbackup up in multiple file system you may not got get it all.

e.g.

/usr/openv
/usr/openv/netbackup/db
/usr/openv/logs

Then ufs dump will take a copy of /usr/openv but not /usr/openv/netbackup/db

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.
